Walk an easy circuit linking medieval monuments, pasture and lake views without leaving the marked route
The circuit is the best way to understand how monuments and present-day island life occupy the same small landscape. From the bridge, paths pass the village and basilica before continuing among grassland, livestock and smaller churches. The terrain is generally easy, though distance, exposure and mud still matter.
Allow several hours with archaeological stops, carry water and use shoes that tolerate wet ground. Close livestock gates, keep dogs leashed and never cross cultivated or fenced land for a shortcut. Families can turn back after the basilica, while the complete loop is better in cool weather.
