Taste a higher-altitude expression of Nemea from the limestone slopes of Koutsi
Gaia is useful after a lower-elevation winery because its Koutsi setting makes Nemea's variation tangible. The estate sits around 550 metres above sea level on poorer limestone soils, and the visit follows wine from vineyard through production, bottling and ageing. Tastings can also include wines from Gaia's Santorini work, but the reason to come is to compare structured Koutsi Agiorgitiko with styles tasted elsewhere in the zone.
Current visitor hours are limited to part of the week and advance booking is the safe assumption. Confirm the selected experience, group size and accessibility because winery production areas contain steps, equipment and working surfaces. The final approach crosses rural roads, so follow the estate's directions rather than a shortcut suggested by navigation software. Use a non-drinking driver and keep the tasting schedule to two or three estates in a day.
