Kerveli Beach

Kerveli is a small pebble bay east of Vathy, backed by green slopes and seasonal tavernas, with a generally protected outlook toward the strait.

Our take

Use Kerveli's protected eastern bay when northern beaches are unsettled

Kerveli sits in a folded eastern bay where olive and pine-covered slopes descend close to the shore. Its position can offer an alternative when north-coast wind makes Tsamadou or Lemonakia uncomfortable, though no bay is calm in every forecast. Pebbles continue into clear water, and the compact setting suits a measured swim and lunch better than a search for broad open sand.

The paved road descends through bends and ends with limited parking shared by accommodation and tavernas. Arrive early, park without blocking access and carry water shoes for the pebble entry. Organisation is modest and seasonal; some seating belongs to nearby businesses rather than the public shore. Ask about lifeguard cover instead of assuming it, keep clear of small craft and verify food service outside July and August.
