Lampi Beach

Lampi is known for multicoloured pebble, clear exposed water and a quiet northern setting reached by a winding island road.

Our take

A coloured-pebble shore at Patmos's northern end

Lampi's shore is a mosaic of polished stones rather than a conventional sandy beach. The northern outlook feels open and spare, with a seasonal taverna providing the principal service near the road end.

Leave the distinctive pebbles where they belong; removing them steadily diminishes the beach. Shoes make both the hot shore and water entry easier. Wind and ferry wash can build chop on this exposed coast, and the narrow approach requires patient driving when cars meet.
