Patmos sand reached on foot or by weather-dependent boat
Psili Ammos sits beyond the road network on Patmos's southwest coast. Most independent visitors follow a rocky path from Diakofti, arriving at a sandy bay with tamarisks and a simple seasonal taverna; excursion boats call only when sea conditions permit.
The walk is exposed, uneven and longer in summer heat than the map implies. Wear proper shoes, carry water and allow time to return before dark. Boat service is never guaranteed, and wind can make both the crossing and swimming unsuitable. Do not camp or leave waste beneath the trees.
