Lazaretta Beach

Lazaretta is a sandy-to-fine-pebble beach near Psara village, roomier than the harbour coves and generally without extensive organisation.

Our take

Walk a little farther for a broad quiet swim, bringing the shade and supplies the uncluttered shore does not provide

Lazaretta offers the useful middle ground between village convenience and a remote beach day. The shore has enough length to spread out, while the walk remains realistic in cooler hours. Its uncluttered appearance comes with limited services, so self-sufficiency is part of choosing it.

Carry water, food and shade, and use footwear suitable for hot ground. Wind direction can make this beach less comfortable than Katsouni on the same day. Families should inspect the entry rather than assume uniform sand, and everyone should take rubbish back to the settlement.
