Lefki Beach

Lefki is a small sandy cove on southeast Elafonisos, offering clear water and a quieter scale than nearby Simos but few dependable services.

Our take

Use Lefki as a small weather-led swim, arriving self-sufficient and leaving when limited space or wind makes the cove uncomfortable

Lefki is a compact cove rather than an alternative version of Simos. Pale sand, low rock and clear water create an intimate swim on the southeastern side of the island, with views towards the open sea. Its limited size is precisely the appeal outside the busiest hours, but it also means a handful of cars and umbrellas can change the atmosphere quickly.

Arrive early with water, shade and everything needed to remove your own waste. Check the approach and park only where permitted, keeping tracks open for residents and emergency vehicles. There may be no lifeguard, toilet, shower or staffed business, and mobile signal should not be treated as a safety system. Wind and swell can enter the cove; if conditions deteriorate, choose a sheltered shore rather than forcing the planned swim.
