Skyros's long sandy town beach below Chora
Molos and Magazia form the island's principal developed beach, a long curve east of Chora with restaurants, rooms and organised sections. Golden sand and shallow water make the central parts especially practical for families.
The open east-facing shore can become choppy despite its gentle profile. Arrive early for parking, use the promenade and local lanes on foot, and check flags before letting children range far into the shallows.
