Parga’s long west-facing beach below the castle ridge
Valtos gives Parga enough shoreline for a full beach day. The bay stretches west from the castle headland, mixing sand and fine shingle with organised sections and open space. Food, water sports and accommodation are close, while the castle remains visible above the eastern end.
Walk over the castle ridge, use a seasonal taxi boat or arrive early by car. Parking pressure rises quickly in summer. Water sports need a licensed operator and clear separation from swimming zones. The beach faces open Ionian weather, so follow lifeguard guidance and do not assume conditions match sheltered Krioneri.
