A tiny sulphur-scented cove below the coast road
Xigia is a compact northeast-coast cove where sulphurous water emerges around the cliffs, producing a mineral smell and pale streaks in the sea. White pebble and an enclosed setting intensify the colour.
Parking is limited above the cove and the descent uses steep steps. The beach itself has little spare room, while water becomes deep beyond the pebble. People sensitive to sulphur or respiratory irritation should keep the visit brief and leave if uncomfortable.
