Antiparos balances an easygoing Chora with family beaches, a celebrated cave and boat trips along a quieter Cycladic coastline.
Chora begins at the ferry quay and runs towards a Venetian kastro hidden within later houses. Its pedestrian main street is sociable without the scale of nearby Paros, and the northern beaches can be reached on foot or bicycle.
The Cave of Antiparos descends through an immense chamber of stalactites on Agios Ioannis hill. Farther south, coves and sea caves are best seen by boat, while the archaeological sanctuary on Despotiko adds a major ancient site to an island often framed only as a beach escape.
Practical information
Frequent small ferries cross from Pounda on Paros, with seasonal passenger boats from Parikia. Cave access involves hundreds of steps and is unsuitable for some visitors.
