Folegandros Chora is a largely traffic-free village of linked squares, kastro houses and a zigzag path to Panagia church.
Chora sits high above the sea, where a medieval kastro is incorporated into rows of white houses. A sequence of small, tree-shaded squares creates the village's social heart, with tavernas and cafés spread naturally rather than along one commercial strip.
The climb to the Church of Panagia follows a visible zigzag above town and ends with wide sunset views. Chora's restraint is its strength: limited nightlife, strong local cooking and immediate access to old paths across the island.
Practical information
Buses connect Chora with Karavostasis port and Ano Meria. The centre is pedestrian; book early because accommodation supply is limited and summer demand is high.
