Kimolos offers volcanic geology, clear beaches and a compact medieval village, with a gentler pace than neighbouring Milos.
Chorio gathers most island life around a ruined kastro, white lanes and small squares. Kimolos's volcanic ground appears in the brilliant rocks at Prassa and the sculpted formation of Skiadi, reached by a rewarding inland walk.
Beaches are smaller and less organised than on Milos, while boat trips reveal the uninhabited island of Polyaigos and hidden coves. Local bakeries produce ladenia, a tomato-and-onion flatbread that belongs firmly to Kimolos.
Practical information
Ferries arrive at Psathi, and a small boat crosses from Pollonia on Milos. Buses are limited; reserve a vehicle or plan around walking and seasonal beach boats.
