Sikinos is a small, lightly developed island with a two-part Chora, old vineyard terraces and the unusual ancient monument of Episkopi.
Kastro and Chorio form the island's joined hill settlement, with narrow lanes and a quiet square overlooking dry terraces. Episkopi, once interpreted as a temple and later used as a Christian church, stands in an isolated valley among Byzantine chapels.
Sikinos has few organised beaches and little nightlife, which is precisely the point. Walking routes, local wine and unhurried village conversations define a stay more than sightseeing volume.
Practical information
Ferries connect Sikinos with Ios, Folegandros and larger Cycladic ports. Buses are limited, accommodation is small-scale and hiking requires sun protection and water.
