Poseidonion Grand Hotel

A landmark 1914 hotel on Dapia’s waterfront, combining old-island ceremony, shaded terraces and an address that makes car-free Spetses unusually easy.

Our take

Spetses history, facing the harbour

Poseidonion Grand Hotel gives Spetses a proper sense of arrival. Its pale façade and twin domes face the port at Dapia, close enough to the water taxis, cafés and evening promenade that guests can settle into island life without arranging another transfer. The building dates from 1914, and the restoration keeps the scale and occasion of a grand hotel while making the rooms feel calm rather than theatrical.

Sea-facing rooms earn their premium for the changing harbour view; garden rooms trade the spectacle for a quieter outlook. Breakfast on the terrace, a swim in the courtyard pool and dinner at On the Verandah create an easy daily rhythm, while bikes and water taxis open up beaches farther along the coast. It suits first-time Spetses visitors, couples who like to walk to dinner and anyone who wants history to be part of the stay rather than a sight visited after breakfast.
