Little Venice through one window
Kastro's occupies a narrow Little Venice building beside Paraportiani, with a few window seats framing the water at arm's length. Most tables do not get that frame. Couples order calamari, octopus and composed Mediterranean plates while waves strike the wall below.
Book the window by description rather than asking vaguely for a view, and choose an off-peak hour if that seat matters. The food earns strong current praise, though some guests find the plate design more persuasive than the seasoning; compare the printed menu before paying for the address.
What visitors say
Current Google and Tripadvisor feedback praises calamari, octopus and the waterline windows; repeated criticism says ordinary tables lose much of the appeal and some dishes lack seasoning.
