Walk beyond the beach lanes to find basilica walls, baths and graves from a substantial early Christian settlement
The archaeological remains complicate the idea of Telendos as only a climbing satellite. Basilica walls, mosaic fragments, baths and burials indicate a settled late-antique community connected to the wider Kalymnian world. Agios Konstantinos occupies a dramatic position higher on the island.
Use a current path description, begin early and expect rough ground with little interpretation. Do not walk on mosaics or masonry, and keep away from unstable edges. The upper route is a hike, not a casual extension of a beach stroll.
