Holomontas explains why Polygyros feels different from Halkidiki's resort strips. Roads and tracks climb into a working mountain landscape of forest, small farms and villages, with shade that can make summer walking more comfortable than the coast. A route near Taxiarchis can combine woodland, viewpoints and a village meal, but trail marking and forestry activity vary. Choose a distance that leaves time to understand the landscape rather than racing to a summit.
