Follow Hydra's west coast from fishing harbour to swimming village without arranging a vehicle
Begin on the west side of Hydra Harbour and follow the shoreline past Spilia and Avlaki to Kamini's fishing harbour. The route then continues above the water to Vlychos, alternating between level paving, stone steps and short inclines. It is one of the clearest expressions of car-free Hydra: lunch, swimming and two distinct settlements fit into a half day without a transfer.
Allow about an hour each way if walking slowly, more for swimming or lunch. Shade is limited and several edges are unguarded, so go early, supervise children closely and avoid looking at a phone while moving. Comfortable shoes matter even though this is not a mountain trail. In season, a water taxi can shorten the return, but confirm the last service before relying on it and keep enough energy to walk back if boats stop because of weather.
