Greece’s largest ski area, when the mountain allows
Parnassos is the reason winter weekends bring Athens north to Arachova. The Kellaria and Fterolakka areas provide Greece’s broadest lift-served terrain, with runs for different abilities and long views across Central Greece. On a good snow day, the experience is genuinely alpine with a distinctly Greek social rhythm.
Climate variability means skiing must never be presented as guaranteed, even in midwinter. Check the operator’s live lift, road and snow report before leaving, carry chains when required and consider a lesson rather than overestimating ability. Arachova and the national park still reward a visit when lifts are closed, but the day needs a different plan.
