Myth, altitude and a deep Parnassian landscape
The Corycian Cave, also known as Sarantavli, opens in the high country above Delphi and Arachova. Ancient worship, local refuge stories and the physical drama of the first chamber give it unusual resonance. The journey across the plateau is part of the experience and shows a quieter Parnassus beyond roads and ski lifts.
This is an undeveloped natural site, not a managed show cave. Conditions can be muddy, icy or disorienting; use a qualified local guide, carry proper lighting and never push into deeper passages casually. Weather, fire risk and winter access can all make a planned visit unsafe.
