The textile and working traditions behind the resort town
Arachova’s modern image is dominated by ski traffic, but the town’s older identity rests on pastoral work, weaving and mountain trade. The folklore museum gathers textiles, tools and household material that make those traditions visible and explain the geometric rugs still associated with the area.
Opening can be limited or arranged locally, so verify before building a day around it. When access is possible, the museum works best before wandering the uphill lanes: architectural details and shop displays become easier to read once their practical origins are understood.
