Pera Panta Coastal Walk

The easy waterfront route around Pera Panta trades close-up architecture for broad views back to Galaxidi's roofs, churches and sheltered harbour.

Our take

Walk the pine-edged opposite shore to see Galaxidi as a complete harbour town

Begin near the main waterfront and follow the shore toward Pera Panta, the wooded side facing the old town. The change in viewpoint matters: church towers, captain houses and the harbour align across the water, while small coves interrupt the path. It is a gentle local walk rather than a formal trail, best used to slow down between the museum and dinner.

Allow ninety minutes for an unhurried out-and-back route with stops. Shade is intermittent, surfaces vary, and sections share space with local traffic, so walk facing vehicles where there is no pavement. Carry water and use insect protection near vegetation in the evening. After rain, roots and smooth waterfront surfaces can be slippery. Start before sunset only if you have enough daylight for the return.
