Kastellorizo's clearest beach-day option reached by water taxi
Agios Georgios is the most convincing answer when a traveller asks for a beach day on Kastellorizo. A water taxi crosses from the harbour or Mandraki to the small islet, where the chapel, cove and platforms create an easy place to alternate swimming and resting. The shore remains compact, and the restaurant and boat service are seasonal; arrive with the expectation of an island swim rather than a fully equipped beach club.
Agree on fare, pickup point and last return before boarding, and photograph the boat name or operator number. Ask whether shade, toilets and food are operating on your date; carry water regardless. Entry may use rock, steps or a ladder, so water shoes help and access may not suit limited mobility. Do not miss the final boat, cross the channel independently or swim near taxi approaches. Wind can cancel an otherwise short transfer.
