A long-running fish restaurant on the eastern harbour edge
Lazarakis is one of the harbour's established names, evolving from a family kafeneio opened in 1947 into a fish restaurant. Its position near the eastern side of the settlement works well for dinner after a swim or a walk towards the Megisti Hotel. Recent menus have ranged beyond conventional grilling, but availability follows supply; ask which raw, cured or cooked dishes are offered on the day rather than ordering from a dated online photograph.
For whole fish, confirm origin, weight and the price per kilogram before it reaches the grill. Reserve an outside table if the view matters, but accept an indoor alternative when wind is strong. Raw seafood carries greater food-safety risk for pregnant, elderly or immunocompromised diners, who should choose thoroughly cooked dishes. Hours and weekly closing can shift in shoulder season, so call before walking across the harbour specifically for a meal.
