Aspri Ammos

Aspri Ammos is an entirely unorganised west-coast beach reached by boat, with pale pebbles, quickly deepening water and no signal or supplies.

Our take

Othonoi's white-cliff beach, reached only in suitable seas

White cliffs and clear turquoise water make Aspri Ammos Othonoi's defining coastal view. The beach mixes pale sand and smooth pebble, and the water becomes deep soon after entry. Its isolation is real: no road or path reaches the shore, and a visit depends on a local boat transfer or a suitable excursion from Corfu rather than determination on land.

Go only when a licensed skipper considers the west coast safe and accept a changed return time or cancellation. There is little natural shade, no drinking water, food, lifeguard, toilet or reliable phone signal. Carry everything in and every item of rubbish out, including cigarette ends. Families with young children should prefer Ammos because entry here deepens quickly. Do not swim towards Calypso's Cave unless conditions are calm, the skipper agrees and your ability genuinely matches open-water exposure.
