A quieter northern cove for a self-sufficient shore day
Fiki offers a different beach day from both village-centred Ammos and boat-only Aspri Ammos. The northern cove is associated with clear water and traces of the island's maritime past beneath the surface, but the real appeal is its modest scale. It is a place to swim and sit quietly, not a managed attraction with a programme of services.
Ask locally about the current path or boat approach because minor routes, vegetation and sea conditions change. Do not remove pottery, amphora fragments or any object from the water; archaeological material belongs in place and should be reported, not collected. Expect no lifeguard, shade, water or toilet, wear shoes suitable for rock and pebble, and carry rubbish out. Snorkel with a companion and stay close to shore when boats or wind reduce visibility.
