Walk or drive from Fry for the island's easiest swim and stay for a harbour-side lunch
Emporeios is the useful everyday beach on Kasos. It lies about half a kilometre from Fry and can be reached on foot by active visitors, making it easy to combine with the archaeological collection or old harbour. The shore is modest rather than spectacular, but nearby food and road access remove much of the planning required for Helatros or Armathia.
Space is limited in summer, and boats or harbour activity may affect parts of the water. Check the entry, wind and local guidance before swimming, especially with children. Seasonal tavernas do not guarantee all-day facilities, so still bring water and shade. Use the road carefully when walking, return before dark if visibility is poor and do not assume lifeguard supervision because the beach is close to town.
