Firiplaka Beach

Firiplaka offers a long strip of pale sand and pebble beneath red and white cliffs, partly organised but vulnerable to crowding and falling rock.

Our take

A colourful south-coast beach below layered volcanic cliffs

Firiplaka is one of Milos's more accessible volcanic landscapes. Bands of pale, red and yellow rock rise behind a sandy shore, and a large detached rock divides the main swimming areas. A seasonal bar and loungers occupy only part of the beach.

Stay away from the cliff base, especially after wind or rain, and use the marked path rather than shortcuts. The last road is rough, parking is limited and no shade exists beyond umbrellas. South wind can make the entire shore uncomfortable.
