Kavourotrypes Beach

Kavourotrypes is a broken chain of rocky coves north of Sarti, visually striking but difficult to park, descend and use responsibly in summer.

Our take

Tiny granite coves with turquoise water and very little capacity

Pine and pale granite divide Kavourotrypes into a series of minute beaches rather than one continuous shore. Clear turquoise water fills the gaps, and views toward Mount Athos appear across the bay on clear days.

The landscape cannot absorb the volume of cars it attracts. Park only where legal, never block the coast road and stay on established paths to limit erosion. Rock is slippery, coves lack reliable toilets and the steep informal descents are unsuitable for reduced mobility or loaded pushchairs.

Good to know
