Kavourotrypes Beach

White rock, pale sand and green water make Kavourotrypes memorable, but its small coves and awkward approach require an early start and realistic expectations.

Our take

Tiny pine-backed coves with very little room to spare

Kavourotrypes is a succession of pocket-sized coves rather than one generous beach. Pine trees lean over sculpted white rock, and short strips of pale sand open onto shallow emerald water. The scenery explains the beach’s popularity; it also explains its main weakness, because there is nowhere for summer crowds to spread out.

Arrive early, park only where it is legal and carry footwear with grip for the path and rock. Some coves have seasonal seating while others remain bare, but none offers the space or predictable access of a resort beach. If the roadside is already congested, continue to a larger Sithonia beach instead of blocking the road or forcing a risky descent.
