Walk from the port for the island's simplest family swim, with shallow water and no transport timetable to manage
Lientou is not the island's wildest shore, and that is precisely its strength. The walk from the port is manageable, the bay is usually sheltered and the sandy entry remains shallow for a useful distance. It works well when ferry timings leave only half a day or when children need an uncomplicated swim.
Natural shade and organised facilities are limited, so bring water and protection rather than expecting a beach club. Boats may anchor outside the swimming area. Keep the shore clear, use bins back in the village if necessary and reassess conditions whenever wind strengthens.
