Livadia Beach

Livadia's long pebble shore gives port-based visitors a clear, warm-water swim without arranging transport, with tavernas and shops close behind it.

Our take

The easiest swim on Tilos, beginning beside the ferry port

Livadia beach starts almost where the harbour settlement ends and continues east around the bay. Its great advantage is freedom from logistics: walk from a room, swim before breakfast, leave when wind rises and return after the heat drops. The shore is pebbly, so water shoes help, while the eastern stretch usually feels quieter than the section closest to the port and village tables.

Ferries, yachts and working boats share the wider bay. Stay within the understood swimming area, keep clear of harbour movements and follow any local buoys or instructions. Tavernas and cafés make the village section convenient but do not guarantee a lifeguard. Shade varies, and chairs belong to individual businesses where provided. A calm-looking morning can become breezy later, so check the surface before attempting a long parallel swim.
