Sand and fine pebbles, blue water and a rock arch give Mylopotamos its character; road access ends above a substantial flight of steps.
Our take
Two Aegean coves divided by a natural stone arch
Mylopotamos sits below Pelion’s wooded eastern slope, with a natural arch dividing the shore into two connected coves. The mix of sand and fine pebbles is comfortable underfoot, and the water often has the cold, clear blue associated with the open Aegean side of the peninsula.
The view from the parking area is not the same as easy access: reaching the beach requires a long staircase, and the return climb is exposed to the sun. The main cove has a small organised section in summer, but space is limited. Avoid swimming through the arch or near the rocks when swell is running, however inviting the water looks from above.
