Mylopotas is the island's most developed beach, with fine sand, frequent buses, water sports and music concentrated around its central and western sections.

Ios's big sandy beach, active by day and late into the evening
Mylopotas curves below Chora in a broad kilometre-long bay. It can support very different days: organised clubs and water sports dominate one end, while tavernas and quieter sand appear farther along. Frequent buses make access simple without a car.
Music and crowds build through the afternoon. Swimmers should use buoyed areas away from tow sports and boards. The road and footpath from Chora are steep enough that the bus is preferable in summer heat.
