Use the ferry side of Therasia for an uncomplicated dip, watching vessel movements and the day's north wind
Riva provides a practical swim while waiting for transport or after exploring the north of the island. Its outlook and sea conditions differ from enclosed Korfos, and wind can create a rougher shore. The harbour remains functional rather than scenic theatre.
Keep away from ferry manoeuvres, ramps and mooring lines, and ask locally where swimming is safe. Wear footwear on dark stones and bring shade. Services are limited and sailing changes can suddenly make the quay busy.
