Stay after the caldera boats leave to see Therasia's main village as a community rather than a viewpoint
Manolas is the island's administrative and social centre, not a polished substitute for Oia. Lanes follow the rim between homes, churches and a handful of businesses, repeatedly opening onto the caldera. The village becomes markedly quieter once day visitors descend.
Approach residential lanes respectfully, keep doorways clear and ask before photographing people. Steps and uneven surfaces constrain accessibility. If climbing from Korfos, start early and carry water; otherwise arrange the road transfer from Riva before arrival.
