Take the island's simplest swim close to rooms and tavernas while keeping clear of harbour activity
The village beach is valuable less for drama than for ease. It suits an arrival-day swim or families who want food and a room close by, without carrying supplies across the island. Its proximity to boats means the water must be read as part of a working waterfront.
Use the recognised bathing area, supervise children and never swim across harbour approaches. Seasonal businesses may provide useful facilities but these are not guaranteed public services. Aqua shoes are sensible on mixed stones, and a quieter early swim avoids the busiest crossing and lunch traffic.
