Fokos Taverna faces an undeveloped north-coast beach from a low stone terrace, reached by a rough final stretch of road. No beach club surrounds it. Drivers and swimmers stop for grilled fish, scampi, lamb chops and pita after a morning in the water.
The kitchen follows the catch rather than promising every item, and older complaints cite costly substitutions when fresh fish had run out. Call before the drive, ask what is available and priced, then leave before dark if loose gravel or an unfamiliar rental car makes the approach uncomfortable.
