A guided descent through Tzoumerka's river landscape
Rafting makes the Arachthos more than a view from Plaka Bridge. Commercial routes move through a deep green corridor of rock, springs and stone bridges, with trained guides matching the section to water level and group experience. Many standard descents are suitable for first-time rafters, but that judgement belongs to the operator on the day rather than to a fixed online description.
Book with an established operator that supplies helmets, buoyancy aids, wetsuits when needed and a clear safety briefing. Declare medical conditions, swimming confidence and children's ages honestly. River levels can postpone or alter a trip after rain, snowmelt or releases; never pressure a guide to run. Confirm meeting point, transport, footwear and what valuables to leave behind, since different companies use different put-ins along a broad region.
