The old foot connection across Chrousias ravine
Syrrako and Kalarrytes appear close across Chrousias ravine, but the old path descends steeply to the stream before climbing just as firmly to the opposite village. Stone paving and bridge sections reveal how residents travelled before modern roads. Walking it provides a far stronger understanding of the two settlements than seeing each only from a parking area.
This is not a level village promenade. Expect sustained descent and ascent, loose or wet stone, limited shade and sections where waymarking may be damaged. Check the forecast, start with daylight to spare, carry water and wear proper walking shoes. Avoid the route in ice, thunderstorms or high water, and arrange a local guide if navigation or fitness is uncertain. Confirm food and return transport rather than assuming both villages are fully serviced.
