High Tzoumerka walking above Pramanta
Strogoula dominates the view above Pramanta and provides the region's most recognisable high-mountain objective. The refuge area can be a destination in itself, while routes continuing towards the peak move through forest and open limestone terrain with broad views across Tzoumerka. This is where the area's scale becomes clear, but only when conditions and experience align.
Obtain current route information from the refuge or a local mountaineering organisation. Waymarks can be damaged, cloud can erase visibility quickly and lingering snow may require equipment well beyond summer hiking shoes. Carry offline mapping, water, food and warm or waterproof layers, leave a route plan and turn around early. Travellers without mountain navigation experience should hire a qualified guide rather than follow a downloaded track into exposed ground.
