Chora and North Beaches by Bicycle

Antiparos's flat northern end supports a manageable bicycle outing through Chora to Psaraliki, Sifneiko and the port-side beaches without committing to the island's busier southern road.

Our take

A short bicycle circuit linking the harbour, Kastro and easy swims

A bicycle is most useful at the compact northern end of Antiparos. Begin at the harbour, pass through the pedestrian centre on foot, circle the Kastro and continue to Sifneiko before returning towards Psaraliki or Agios Spyridonas for a swim. The distances are short enough to stop often, and the route reveals how closely the town's historic core and beaches sit together.

Cycling farther south is a different proposition because traffic speed, heat and limited shoulders become more significant. For this shorter circuit, rent a properly sized bicycle, take a helmet and lock, walk through crowded pedestrian lanes, and carry lights if returning near dusk. Avoid the midday heat and never leave valuables in a basket while swimming. Ask the rental shop about current roadworks and any sections where dismounting is safer.
