Bonatsa Beach

Bonatsa is a broad sandy beach on Kimolos's gentler southern coast, with seasonal service and more forgiving access than remote northern coves.

Our take

Use this long south-coast strand for an easier swim and a slower family beach day

Bonatsa is the practical counterpoint to Prassa. Its longer sandy shore and southern position often make it a better choice for families or for a day when northern beaches are windblown. The water entry is generally gradual, but conditions and the sand profile change, so an adult should still check footing and depth before a child swims.

A seasonal canteen and organised section can make a full beach day easier, while free stretches remain for travellers carrying their own shade. Confirm bus times before relying on public transport and arrange the return in advance if staying into the evening. Bring water even when the canteen is expected to open, keep clear of private accommodation access and do not assume a lifeguard is present.
