Mavrospilia Beach

Mavrospilia offers a quieter sand-and-pebble shore and broad sunset aspect on western Kimolos, with little dependable service and an exposed approach.

Our take

Save the west coast for a calm late afternoon and stay well clear of unstable rock

Mavrospilia works best as a deliberate west-coast outing rather than a default beach. Its open view makes late afternoon attractive, and it can be paired with the Skiadi route by strong walkers who follow the municipality's marked trail. The shore is more natural than Bonatsa, with mixed sand and pebbles, and wind from the west can quickly remove its appeal.

Take all water, shade and food needed for the visit. Keep away from eroding slopes and freestanding coastal rocks, particularly after rain or strong weather, and do not climb formations for photographs. The rural road and path need secure footwear and an unhurried return before dark. There is no sound basis for expecting a lifeguard, regular toilets or continuous mobile reception.
