Foneas Beach

Foneas is a compact white-pebble cove divided by a large rock, with deep cool water, limited shade and a short uneven descent from the road.

Our take

Cool deep water around a white Mani rock

Foneas sits where a gorge reaches the coast between Kardamyli and Stoupa. White pebble, clear blue water and a massive central rock give the small cove a strong visual identity, while caves and ledges frame either side.

The water deepens quickly and jumping from the rock is risky without current local knowledge of depth and submerged hazards. Parking beside the main road is limited, and the path down is rough. A seasonal canteen may operate, but bring water and do not depend on natural shade lasting through the afternoon.
