Lioliou Beach

A small sandy bay on Schinoussa's southeast coast, with clear water, a seasonal restaurant and less room than the island's main beaches.

Our take

A compact southeast cove that works well with lunch

Lioliou is a neat sandy cove at the end of the island road. Its low stone edges and southeast outlook make it feel enclosed without being completely protected. The water is inviting in settled weather and a seasonal restaurant gives the bay the useful rhythm of swim, shade and a long lunch.

The beach is compact, so it fills quickly when day boats or several groups arrive together. An early start secures more space and avoids the hottest part of the walk. Do not arrive expecting a resort concession: restaurant opening, umbrellas and toilet access are seasonal, and the exposed final stretch offers little natural shade.
