A pair of relaxed sandy coves close to Aegina Town
Marathonas is split between two small sandy bays on the coastal road south of Aegina Town. The first puts tavernas and organised seating close at hand; the second has a little more breathing room. Both have a gradual entry that works well for an easy swim before lunch.
Space is modest rather than expansive, and roadside parking becomes the limiting factor on summer weekends. The shore faces west, so late afternoon is especially pleasant, but do not leave valuables visible in a parked car and keep the narrow road clear.
