Open sand, dunes and wind on Kos's north shore
Marmari's long shore leaves more room to spread out than the compact resort centre suggests. Fine sand, low dunes and a view across the Aegean create an open feel, with organised hotel sectors alternating with public access.
The same wind that cools the beach supports kite and wind sports and can produce short steep waves. Keep out of launch zones, heed flags and expect drifting sand on strong days. Use established dune paths and carry essentials when walking beyond the central services.
