Monastiri Beach

Monastiri combines sheltered shallow water with trail access in Paros Park, though the compact organised shore becomes crowded around midday.

Our take

A shallow bay at the entrance to Paros Park

Monastiri sits inside a protected bay below the monastery of Agios Ioannis Detis. The water remains shallow well from shore, and marked trails in Paros Park make it possible to pair swimming with a headland walk before the heat builds.

The sandy beach is small and largely organised, so early arrival matters. Use signed park trails, carry water beyond the beach facilities and avoid climbing unstable coastal rock. Seasonal boats from Naousa can be easier than driving.
